2025 Tax Filing Deadlines: Key Dates to Remember

Stay on top of your tax obligations with this quick guide to the 2025 filing deadlines:

For Individuals

January 31, 2025:
Deadline for employers to issue W-2s and 1099s and Form 1099-NEC and W2s
April 15, 2025:
Federal income tax filing deadline for individuals. File your Form 1040 or request an extension. Payment is due even if you file for an extension.
October 15, 2025:
Extended deadline for individual tax returns (if an extension was filed by April 15).

For Businesses

March 17, 2025: Deadline for partnerships (Form 1065) and S corporations (Form 1120-S) to file returns or request an extension.

April 15, 2025:
C corporations (Form 1120) must file returns or request an extension.
September 15, 2025:
Extended deadline for partnerships and S corporations.
October 15, 2025:
Extended deadline for C corporations.

Estimated Tax Payments

Quarterly estimated tax payments for individuals and businesses are due:

January 15, 2025 (Q4 2024)
April 15, 2025 (Q1 2025)
June 17, 2025 (Q2 2025)
September 15, 2025 (Q3 2025)

Other Important Deadlines

May 15, 2025:
Filing deadline for tax-exempt organizations (Form 990) or to request an extension.
